At Arlington Area Childcare, we believe some of the best learning happens around the table, and our partnership with Mighty Food Farm has helped make that possible.

Having access to fresh, locally grown produce through our CSA has transformed the way we introduce children to healthy foods. Whether we're serving colorful farm-fresh vegetables at lunch, making homemade refrigerator pickles, tasting crispy kale chips during Harvest of the Month, or exploring where food comes from, the quality and freshness of the produce inspires both our staff and our children.

The vegetables are beautiful, flavorful, and arrive at their peak freshness. Even children who are hesitant to try new foods become excited when they get to wash, chop, season, cook, and taste produce that was grown right here in our community. We've watched children proudly make their own pickles, discover that they actually love kale chips, and ask for seconds of fresh vegetables they helped prepare.

Mighty Food Farm has become much more than a source of produce for our center—it has become an extension of our classroom. The farm gives us opportunities to teach children about nutrition, gardening, sustainability, local agriculture, and the importance of supporting our community. These are experiences they'll carry with them long after preschool.
