Cilantro
Season:
- Late spring through summer
- Cilantro is the leaf of the young coriander plant, Coriandrum sativum, an herb in the parsley family, similar to anise.
- Cilantro is best stored on the counter in a vase, like a bouquet of flowers. It is best to use it as soon as it is picked.
- Pack olive-oil covered chopped herbs in an ice cube tray. Wrap trays in plastic wrap. Use in soups, stews or thaw in pan over low heat.
